Den Gyldene Freden is a classic restaurant in medieval Gamla Stan. It was frequented by such Swedish legends as Jussi Björling, Carl Michael Bellman, Evert Taube, and Cornelis Vresswijk. Legend has it that the selection of many Nobel prizewinners took place at the Swedish Academy’s regular table.
