perfect day

That was a perfect day (organization, gear, friendliness, weather, picnic... ).Take care that you are a little bit better trained than I was. I did some training on icehockey-boots, BUT those long-distance-iceskatingshoes were TOTALLY different to handle. The difference is like downhill-skiing and cross-countryskiiing. Bt as I said: It was a perfect day to skate on these xxl-lakes the swedes have !!!!

If you only have time for one thing....do this

Stockholm is a fantastic city, but what makes it amazing is that within 30 mins you can be out skating on a frozen lake surrounded by the most beautiful scenery, and having a truely unique experience, that you will talk about for days! Best of all no stress necessary IceGuide do all the work. All you have to do is show up. And if like me you can't skate, don't worry a very experienced and very patient guide will see you through. You won't regret this!

Ice Guide is awesome!

We were looking for something exciting to do on our trip to Stockholm and were lucky to find Ice Guide! We met Joakim at an easy-to-find coffee shop in Central Station, and he took care of everything from equipment and travel to lunch and hot cocoa. He helped us two Floridians feel comfortable with a day on the ice. We skated on two different lakes outside of Stockholm with a short 10 minute hike in between, and the scenery was breathtaking! Definitely book a tour if you are looking for adventure in Stockholm!

Perfect day on the Stromaren lake :)

It started with a rainy day but that made the ice only more smooth.

After having almost no ice-skating experience 20 KM felt like a breeze.

The kick of crackling ice and speed made it even more fun.

A fantastic experience!

In winter, when the surrounding lakes and sea freeze, Stockholm reveals a unique attraction: Long distance ice skating tours (Långfärdsskridskoturer) allows you to experience Stockholm from a very different side! Joakim is super friendly guy that provides you with an all-inclusive package: Skating and safety material (even a set of extra clothes in case you take an unexpected dip :-) ), lunch box, transportation, guiding and instructions, interesting background information but most of all a fantastic experience. The only thing you have to do is to show up dressed in winter clothes that allow activity (e.g. no jeans etc.). I joined Joakim on two of his tours and enjoyed every second of them. And I will do it again as soon as I get the chance. So I'm happy to give my warmest recommendations!
