The last time AIK and Djurgården played in the same regular season was 2011/2012. AIK then continued to play in the highest league when Djurgården was in the Hockeyallsvenskan for two seasons. This means that the 2022/2023 season will be the first ever that a Stockholm team does not play in the highest league.
