This spring’s exhibition at Sven-Harrys konstmuseum offers a moving look back on the 1930s, and on four of the most loved Swedish artists of the last century: Vera Nilsson, Sven Xet Erixson, Bror Hjorth, and Albin Amelin. Serving as the epicenter for the exhibition is a collection of illustrations that was published in 1933 in the one-off publication Humanitet, which was a call to action from the contributing artists, whose illustrations portrayed the tightening hold of fascism in Europe, and the growing threat to democracy.
