What is a human being? How far do our moods, actions, and fancies reach? Where does Alfons himself end? The warmth that his body gives so that the cat Puzzle likes to lie on the chair where he sat, isn't that Alphonse's warmth? And the air he exhales? And the spit he spits on the street that saves the lives of tiny little creeps? Alfons's thoughts find no end.
