Maria Jane Smith, born August 22, 1990, in Ausås, Ängelholm, Sweden, is a Swedish singer and songwriter. She is the half-sister of Jay Smith, winner of the Swedish Idol competition. She formed the folk-pop duo Smith & Thell with Victor Thell, whom she met as teenagers in Helsingborg, Sweden. Their debut album, "Soulprints," was released in April 2017 and achieved significant success. The duo garnered a Swedish Grammis for Composer of the Year in 2020.
