Orpheus - Opera by G Ph Telemann

The opera Orpheus from 1726 is based on the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Telemann introduces a new main character - Orasia, Queen of Thrace, who is unhappily in love with Orpheus. Telemann uses musical themes to emphasize Orasia's emotional state. The unique stage at Drottningholms Slottsteater - a UNESCO World Heritage site - is the perfect setting for this drama.
