The Making and Breaking of an Icon: Dragging the Inside Out

Through sculpture, video, and performance, Nada Ali explores a contradictory relationship with a monument. In the ritualistic act of creating, destroying, and repairing, she highlights our quest to find meaning in existence and how the various forms of power and symbols affect us. Nada often draws from personal experiences, and the themes resonate with collective traumas of grief and loss, but also the act of comforting and healing.
