If you're looking for a refreshing morning swim or an afternoon massage, there are several good options in central Stockholm.
- Centralbadet – Stockholm's oldest bath house, opened in 1909 and is famous for its well-preserved art nouveau architecture and decor. Offers several treatments and massages, besides swimming in its pool.
- Sturebadet – Another classic bath in the middle of Stockholm. Offers several types of recreation like swimming, massage, and various treatments. Also has a branch at the Elite Marina Hotell in Nacka.
- Several hotels have spa facilities open to both guests and the public. The Nest at Downtown Camper, Selma Cityspa, and Grand Hôtel's Nordic Spa & Fitness for example.
In the surrounding areas
Most people associate a spa experience with serene surroundings, away from the busy goings on of everyday life. It's no surprise, then, that many facilities are located in Stockholm's outskirts and beyond.
- Hotell Havsbaden – Located in the idyllic archipelago hamlet Grisslehamn, 1,5 hours north of central Stockholm. Take a swim, outdoors or indoors, get a massage, or choose from several relaxing treatments.
- Ellery Beach House – Located on Elfviks Udde, on Lidingö's eastern tip, 40-50 minutes by public transport from Stockholm City. Styled after 1950s-1960s American beach clubs. Swimming pools, a spa facility, padel courts, and several restaurants for a tasty meal.
- Yasuragi – One of Stockholm's most famous spa hotels. A Japanese oasis in the inner archipelago, 30-40 minutes by bus from Slussen Try out a variety of refreshing baths, treatments, or classes.
- Skepparholmen – Located just a stone's throw from Yasuragi (30-40 minutes by bus from Slussen), on the shores of the Lövberga cove. Skepparholmen is famous for its focus on sustainability, both environmental and social.
- Avid golfer? Combine a weekend on the green with a relaxing spa experience. For example at Fågelbro Golf & Country Club (45-50 minutes by bus from central Slussen) and Smådalarö Gård Hotell & Spa (1,2-1,5 hours by commuter train and bus from central Stockholm).
