Paradiset Nature Reserve

Holger Ellgaard

Deep untouched forest, sun-warmed cliffs, and a large population of capercaillies – that's the Swedish version of paradise. Paradiset Nature Reserve is located in Huddinge, south of Stockholm City. Besides primeval forest, the nature reserve consists of bogs, fields, pastures, and several lakes.

It's a popular place for hiking, as both Sörmlandsleden and Huddingeleden trails go through the area. There are also three shorter hiking loops in Paradiset Nature Reserve: Sameslingan (5 kilometers), Tornbergsslingan (6 kilometers), and Brinkslingan (8 kilometers). Resting areas and wind shelters are available. Maps are for sale in the cabin, open on Sundays only.
