The Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation was founded in 2019 on the initiative of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel. Its purpose is to promote cultural activities in Sweden, and the initial focus will be the development of the Princess Estelle Sculpture Park at Royal Djurgården. With this sculpture project, the Foundation wants to make contemporary art available, to enrich our shared environment, not only for the creation timeless monuments, but also to inspire for discussions and contributing to a better quality of life for everyone in the longer perspective.
Art works in the sculpture park so far are 'Hoop-La' by Alice Aycock, 'Life Rings' by Elmgreen & Dragset, and 'Wind Sculpture in Bronze I' by Yinka Shonibare CBE. The sculpture park expands with one major art work annually.
