Tyresta nationalpark

Visit Stockholm

Tyresta National Park, 40 minutes from the city center, is one of the largest untouched woodlands in Sweden outside the alpine areas. The area has a beautiful virgin forest and was made a national park in 1993.

The park has a 30-kilometer perimeter and a wide variety of unique plants and animals. Pack a picnic and take a walk in the wild, magical forest. Stop to pick berries or swim in one of the lakes.

There are a café and a farm shop in Tyresta By and buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries. Also worth seeing are the exhibits at Naturum (Nationalparkernas hus). The building is shaped like a map of Sweden and is characterized by its eco-friendliness and natural materials.
