Upplandsleden

Upplandsstiftelsen

Hike the 500 kilometers from the bays of Mälardalen in the south all the way up to Dalälven archipelago in the north. Or, select one of the 31 sections or 14 circular routes. Upplandsleden is a hiking trail that cuts through the counties of Stockholm and Uppsala.

Two popular spots along the trail are Kolarmoraån (Section 9), a river with great canoe trails, and Färnebofjärden National Park (Section 18-20), with its islands and shores. There are wind shelters along most sections and even a number of cabins that are free to use and available on a first-come basis. Some sections also have birdwatching towers.

For those who have hiked Upplandsleden already and can't get enough, a tip is to try out Vikingaleden (the Viking trail), which is part of S:t Olavleden and connects Upplandsleden with Roslagsleden, another popular hiking trail close to Stockholm.
