A fashion house that has met with great success all over the world, using its trendy and innovative jeans collection as a starting point. The first collection consisted of only 100 pairs, which were distributed to friends and acquaintances. But the demand for more jeans was tremendous, and so Acne Jeans was born. Today Acne Studios makes entire women&#x27;s and men&#x27;s collections, including shoes and accessories. The flagship store is on Norrmalmstorg square in downtown Stockholm.At Acne Archive, at Torsgatan 53, you will find pieces from past collections and resewn garments at bargain prices.

Armémuseum

Follow men, women, and children through Sweden&#x27;s history of war and peace. Roam from the 16th century to the present day among dramatic, full-scale scenes and original artifacts in temporary and permanent exhibitions. Army Museum

The impressive concert hall Berwaldhallen was created by the architects Erik Ahnborg and Sune Lindström in 1979. It looks like a modern fortress in concrete and glass.

Berwaldhallen, one of the two major concert venues in Stockholm, is home to both the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Swedish Radio Choir. The two ensembles are among the best in the country within their respective fields, reaching far beyond the borders of Sweden. The hall was opened in 1979 and the building itself is unique in both architecture and setting.

Housed in a former cinema, Astoria is opts for a more relaxed dinner experience than the inventive kitchen wizardy at three starred Frantzén. You’ll be treated to classic dishes from the French and Italian culinary traditions – pasta carbonara, Moules frites and Cesar salad to name a few ­– served in a casual atmosphere.

Humlegården is a green oasis a stone&#x27;s throw from nightclub mecca Stureplan, in the middle of the exclusive Östermalm district.Here you can see businessmen in suits eating brown-bag lunches on the grass when it&#x27;s warm and sunny, but also lots of young families and dog owners. In the beginning, the park was a royal garden established by Johan III, who grew fruit, spices, and hops. &quot;Humlan&quot; has been a public park and a popular spot to relax since 1869.The park includes a large playground area, a skateboard ramp, Surfer&#x27;s summer restaurant, and Omnipollos Flora, a summer biergarten. A statue of the flower king Carl Linnaeus stands in the middle of the park, and the National Library of Sweden is right next to Stureplan.

Omaka is a brewery, restaurant, bar, and beer garden created by Sweden&#x27;s youngest brewmaster Hedda Spendrup. The restaurant has an open kitchen concept, where head chef Christian Siberg has composed a menu with modern dishes to pair with every beer brewed in the building. The spacious bar has large windows overlooking the brewery. Omaka&#x27;s slogan for their beer is &#x27;Taste before style&#x27; – but with the new place, we&#x27;d say they&#x27;ve got both.

Östermalm Market Hall has been an institution ever since it opened in the beautiful brick building on Östermalmstorg in 1888. Stroll around the counters packed with fresh fish, meat, sweets, and traditional delicacies or have a seat at one of the many restaurants or wine bars for some people watching. Östermalmshallen houses 18 traders, many of which have been here for generations.In March 2020, the market hall re-opened after several years of renovation. The original star-shaped floor plan has been reinstated, there are three easily accessible floors, and visitors can enjoy several new stores and restaurants.

Saturnus

People go to Saturnus to drink large bowls of hot latte with the legendary cinnamon rolls – they are the biggest, and they’ve been described in the press as the best in town. Stjärtilleriet descibes itself as &quot;Östermalm&#x27;s most UNserious coctail bar&quot;. But the drinks are seriously inventive, with exciting combinations and presentations. The bar is located in Artilleriet, the museum restaurant at The Army Museum, and also runs a sunny outdoor bar during the summer.

The Stockholm Olympic Stadium, commonly referred to as just &quot;Stadion&quot;, was built as the main venue for the 1912 Olympiad in Stockholm. Initially, Torben Grut, the stadium&#x27;s architect, planned for a provisional arena made of wooden boards painted white. But when it was decided that it was to become a permanent landmark Grut opted for a majestic brick construction instead, inspired by Ragnar Östberg&#x27;s constructions and the Visby City Wall, in a typical Swedish National Romantic style. The arena is also decorated with small patterns and reliefs embedded in the brickwork, and you&#x27;ll also find statues by Carl Eldh and Carl Fagerberg.Stadion is not just a beloved historical landmark but also a cherished cultural hub. Before modern arenas like Tele2 and Friends were built in the 21st century, Stadion was the obvious concert venue for international superstars visiting Stockholm during the summer. In fact, the arena is still used to this day for concerts and sports events, which makes it the world&#x27;s oldest Olympic arena still in use. It&#x27;s also open to the public every day, for anyone who wants a morning jog or practice some soccer out on the field.

The classic interior design company Svenskt Tenn has its flagship store on the beautiful shoreline boulevard of Strandvägen. The company originated with a fortuitous meeting between two courageous people with fresh ideas: the stylist and businesswoman Estrid Ericsson and the designer Josef Frank. The timeless, amazingly-patterned, and brilliantly colored creations are cause for a pilgrimage for anyone with an interest in design and interior furnishings. The store has modern classics, a lovely gift department with glass, pottery, and objects by younger established designers.

Scenkonstmuseet, or the Swedish Museum of Performing Arts, is devoted to theatre, dance, and music. Besides offering insights into the history and future of the performing arts, its interactive exhibitions let you be a part of the experience. Take place in a virtual dance troupe, try on theatre masks or create your own piece of music from a multitude of instrument samples.

The National Library of Sweden (Kungliga biblioteket, or just KB) is tasked with preserving and storing everything that is published in Sweden, whether it&#x27;s a school book, fashion magazine, a DVD movie, or a news bulletin broadcast on the radio. Its vast collection includes well over 18 million items, of which the oldest are over a thousand years old. KB has been housed in its current location, in the middle of Humlegården park, since 1877.

The Royal Dramatic Theatre

Sweden&#x27;s national theatre is a beautiful Jugend building located on the waterfront at Nybroviken bay. The guided tours of Dramaten starts at the main entrance and moves through the elegant marble foyer and the main stage. A fascinating look behind the scenes, including a visit to the theatre’s extensive wardrobes. If you fancy a drink, the Marble Foyer (Marmorsalen) and its adjacent terraces are great places to hang out in beautiful and cultured atmosphere.

Occupying the same address since 1920, Tössebageriet is well-known as one of Stockholm&#x27;s most historic classic bakeshops. Take a lunch break with a sandwich made from home-made bread in the cozy bakeshop atmosphere, or enjoy a pastry if you&#x27;re able to choose from among their tempting creations. They have everything in the way of pastries and cakes, and their Semlor makes the &quot;Best Of&quot; list for the city every year.

Vinterpalatset, Gyllene Göken, Rita, Nya Rita, and finally Zita. The movie theater on Birger Jarlsgatan 37 has been known by many names. First opened in 1913, Zita is Stockholm&#x27;s oldest movie theater still in operation. During the course of its history, it&#x27;s been a silent movie theater, a part of the once-mighty RI-movie empire, and an adult movie theater. Today it primarily offers a program of independent and world cinema, and once every year it screens Swedish classics with English subtitles. Zita also houses Bongo Bar, where you can grab a drink or meal before or after your movie.
